Born in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wasteland Prophecies is an album shaped by grief—its weight, its repetition, and the quiet ways it reshapes a person from the inside out. In a time marked by isolation and loss, where many mourned loved ones—sometimes multiple—while others struggled to fully grasp that reality, the album finds its emotional core.

In a Room Full of Dreams

In a Room Full of Dreams enters a surreal analogue world shaped by synesthesia, dreams, memory and altered perception. Drawing on a love of physical records, album sleeves and older electronic music culture, the EP imagines a room where records glow, telephones ring, clocks forget themselves, and familiar objects begin behaving according to the logic of dreams.

At its centre is synesthesia, the experience of one sense involuntarily evoking another: sound becoming colour, music becoming shape, texture or movement. The song Synthesia plays deliberately on synesthesia and synthesia, connecting that perceptual phenomenon with the EP’s synthesizer-driven electronic language. At the same time, the Sound of Colour explores the idea even more directly.

Musically, the EP moves through avant-goth, noir pop, dark wave and experimental territory while retaining Black Lotus’ gothic core. Analogue textures, surreal imagery and shifting perception blur together until sound, image, memory and dream begin to occupy the same space.

For listeners drawn to older records, analogue culture and nostalgia, In a Room Full of Dreams opens a familiar door into something stranger.
